Berber fleece, a kind of sherpa fleece, is named after the Berber people of North Africa, who traditionally used sheep wool to make clothing. With a textured, sherpa like pile on one side and a less textured, lower pile on the other, it is perfect in blankets, jackets, and other cold weather clothing items due to its insulative properties while still being lightweight.
